Learn More About Me

Who am I?

I’m Damyon, a Web Developer with a strong foundation in programming and a keen eye for design. What started as a love for technology evolved into a passion for building beautiful, functional, and user-friendly websites that feel modern, intuitive, and impactful.

What do I do?

Currently, I work at Syracuse University as a Web Developer, where I’m learning the ropes of backend development by shadowing senior developers—while also exploring creative freedom on the front end. I work extensively with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, designing and deploying large-scale initiatives like Commencement and Homecoming, as well as independent projects like the interior pages of our Campaign End site.

My role involves accessibility testing, UI/UX design, and collaborating with key partners across the University to ensure the web experience meets both functional and aesthetic goals.

How did I learn programming?

My journey began in high school with Python and C++. I dove into every class I could—AP Computer Science Principles, Cybersecurity, and more. I even started a programming club to share my knowledge and help others learn, no matter the language. Simultaneously, I was the webmaster and later president of our state-winning robotics club.

In college, I deepened my interest in web development, inspired by my early experiences as a webmaster. I became the go-to tutor among my peers, spending late nights helping friends debug Python scripts or finesse their website layouts. Along the way, I developed a broad skill set across programming languages and UI-focused design.

What is my favorite part of work?

I love being challenged. Whether it's researching a new tech stack, mocking up and iterating on wild Figma concepts, or refining a solution through trial and error—I thrive in the space between creativity and problem-solving. The more difficult the problem, the more opportunity there is to learn and grow.

What do I enjoy outside of work?

I’m a huge sports fan—Buffalo Bills, Houston Rockets, and of course, the Syracuse Orange. I also love spending time with my two dogs, Doc and Autumn.

When it comes to media, I’ve been diving into anime recently—favorites include Jujutsu Kaisen, Solo Leveling, and One Piece (yes, I’m current to the anime). Music-wise, Tyler, the Creator is at the top of my list, with Chromakopia as my favorite album.

Even outside the 9–5, I stay curious about tech. I run my own home server, hosting tools and services for my family as alternatives to platforms like Google Photos. It’s been a crash course in operating systems (Debian Linux, unRAID, Proxmox, TrueNAS), cybersecurity, and networking. In fact—this very website is hosted on my home network.
