Background

Every year Syracuse University runs a campaign to graduating students allowing them the opportunity to get a special cord upon giving. The older version of the page was showing its age and a face-lift was warranted.

Mission

I aimed to preserve the core identity of the page while giving it a modern look and feel—both visually and under the hood. It was important to me that recent graduates visiting the site would feel at home in a contemporary digital experience, rather than navigating something that felt dated or reminiscent of the early 2010s web.

By blending a fresh, updated interface with clean, modern code, I ensured the page remained true to its purpose while meeting the expectations of today’s users.

Deliverables

For this page, there were multiple key deliverables. The landing page itself, but also each interior page for each School, College and Unit also needed attention. I also was in charge of creating and updating the giving form itself, along with the Campaign Progress Indicator(s) that dynamically fill up depending on how close to reaching the goal an individual School, College or Unit was.

Results

The new web experience was such a success that Schools, Colleges and Units that historically have stayed away from being on the page wanted a tile on the new-look page. Many schools met their goals, and the overall experience (internally and externally) was an overwhelming success.
